Dr. Bhavana Parikh, a Surgical Oncologist attached to Shubham Hospital, Pramukh Swami Medical College and Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad and Gujarat cancer hospital (GCS) medical college, Ahmedabad.

Her medical journey begins from year 1993 graduating from NHL Municipal Medical College,Ahmedabad, where she has done MBBS and MS (General Surgery) followed by Assistant Professor of Surgery at Pramukh Swami Medical College-Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad.

She joined at surgical oncology department at Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI), M.P.Shah Cancer Hospital, Ahmedabad in year 2004 and she has worked there for complete 5 years. She has joined as a fellow at GCRI and then promoted to Junior Lecturer in Speciality unit at GCRI. She joined DNB (Surgical Oncology) training programme at GCRI. She got training as a rotation houseman at various subspecialties like Uro-oncology department, Gynec oncology department, and maxillo-facial cancer surgery department at GCRI.

She was very well trained in Breast cancer surgery like Breast conservative surgery, wire localization of microcalcification, breast reconstruction surgery, autologus and synthetic prosthesis. And Mastectomy. She is also trained in GI cancer surgery, Head and neck cancer surgery, urological cancer surgery and gynec cancer surgeries.

She has published almost 13 national and international papers in many journals and presented papers various esteemed conferences.

She is a reviewer of many esteemed journals like Indian Journal of Surgery (IJS), World Journal of Surgical Oncology (WJSO), European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO), Drugs and aging, European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO), World journal of Surgical Research, Journal of medicine and medical sciences, International Scholars Journals etc.

She has been awarded for GOLD MEDAL for “Young Scientist Award for Paper presentation at Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute (GCRI), Ahmedabad in year 2007.

She has attended many conferences, workshop and training programme related to cancer surgery at Gujarat and in India.

After that, she had worked as an Associate Consultant in Department of Surgical Oncology, Asian Institute of Oncology (AIO), S.L Raheja Hospital, Mahim, Mumbai for almost 1 year. At Raheja Hospital, She has worked with all senior most cancer surgeons team of doctors.

She worked at Tata memorial cancer hospital for one year in various departments like Breast cancer services, GI cancer services and Gynec cancer services.
She started her surgical career since year 1999 and cancer surgery since year 2004. She has work experience of almost 15 years in cancer surgery only.

She is currently working as a Consultant Cancer surgeon in Shubham hospital. She has been attached as an Honorary Visiting Cancer Surgeon at Shri Krishna hospital, Pramuskh swami medical college, karamsad once a week. She is also a visiting cancer surgeon at Lions hospital, Palanpur, Banaskantha.

She has attended and organized many CME programmes for medical fraternity and cancer awareness lectures, camps and seminars for general population at various places in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

She is a Life member of “The association of surgeons of India (ASI)”, India medical association (IMA), SELSI, Gujarat state surgeons association.(GSSA), The Association of Gynecologic Oncologist of India (AGOI) and attached with Rotary club of Palanpur.
